In the past few decades, the number of child victims and witnesses of crime has increased at an alarming rate. With the increasing involvement of children and adolescents in the criminal justice system, the field of forensic developmental psychology has developed significantly in research and policy-making. This course will educate students on the relationship between forensic psychology and developmental psychology, focusing on children’s actions and reactions in forensic contexts. Students will learn and apply knowledge in cognitive, socio-emotional, and moral development to children’s roles as witnesses and perpetrators. |
